We require
the owner to sign a form consenting to euthanasia for the animal,
and stating that the animal belongs to that person or that he/she
is the authorised agent.
As a veterinary surgeon, I am governed by the ethical standards
of RCVS (the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons), which means
I cannot give second opinions without a request from the attending
veterinary surgeon.
In the event of me putting an animal to sleep which may be under
treatment I would be obliged to notify the attending veterinary
surgeon that I had done so. |
